Rotary Club of Ashby de la Zouch Hastings have announced they will be bringing their club to a close after running for almost 45 years. 

In a statement published by the Rotary Club, they said: 'it is with great sadness and regret that I have to inform you that at our meeting on Thursday evening (8th August 2025) it was unanimously decided to bring the long history of our proud club to an end.

'We intend to cease being a rotary club on 30th June 2026. 

'We are already considering what we will have to do in the coming months, including handing back our charter, distributing funds and assets and what to do with historically important files.'

Alongside this announcement, the club shared some photos of the last 44 years since the club was originally chartered on 11th May 1981. 

In responses on social media, local residents have described this announcement as 'a very sad day,' and said: 'thank you to all members for all their hard work and service over the years.'
