Ashby Pub To Say Thank You To NHS Workers With This Gesture When It Opens Next Week

The Tap at No76 pub in Ashby is offering NHS workers a free pint when it opens its doors for takeouts over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Last week, we reported on how the Market Street micro-pub will be briefly opening up again while the Coronavirus lockdown is still in place Ashby pub to re-open for takeouts over Bank Holiday weekend

The Tap will be making sure social distancing measures are in place for customers.

And, by way of saying thanks to frontline workers, the pub will also be offering NHS a free drink.

A post on the pub's Facebook page on Friday said: "Tollgate Brewery and all its staff are pleased to offer to all NHS employees a free pint on us.

"Big thanks for all you do.

"Buy a four pint takeout and only pay for three on production of an NHS staff card."

And the message also gave details of the beers they will be selling on May 8 and 9.

It added: "Prices for beer will be £12 for four pints and cider at £14 for four pints. Takeaway containers are 50p but please bring your own if you have them."

The Tap also made reference to Friday being the 75th anniversary of VE on a day which would have been widely celebrated throughout Ashby.

The post said: "Join us from 12noon on Friday, May 8 to raise a pint to all those who gave their lives for others, whether that's 75 years ago or today. Stay safe x"
