Ashby Practice Says Vaccinations To Be Made Available in January At 'Localised Centre'

By Graham Hill 30th Dec 2020

Ashby's Castle Medical Group says Covod-19 vaccinations should be available in North West Leicestershire next month.

The Burton Road-based practice's Facebook page features a post saying a 'localised centre' is planned for the district.

It adds that the over-80s age group will get priority.

But West Leicestershire Clinical Commissioning Group has said the public must remain patient and NOT phone the surgery, saying: "Please don't call your GP practice to ask about this. They will contact you when it's your turn to be vaccinated."

The Castle Medical Group post says: "Roll out of the vaccination programme has been phased across Leicestershire and planning for a localised centre in North West Leicestershire are well under way for this to go live in January.

"As soon as this service is available for our patients we will be in touch.

"Patients will be prioritised starting with those over 80 years."
