Ashby police say they are making progress with their aim of reducing drug related activity in the town.

A message on the Neighbourhood Link network says their increased patrols have shown some success.

But they are conscious that the problem could have been moved to other areas and want the public to inform them if so.

The post reads: "The Ashby Beat Team have had some success with their No 1 priority of reducing drug related activity.

"The increased patrols we have made in identified areas have resulted in a reduction of this behaviour.

"We remain conscious of the fact that we may have simply displaced this issue to other locations locally.

"With this in mind we are asking you to report any similar suspicious behaviour in your area.

"With your help we can achieve a wider disruptive impact on those involved.

"If you have any information you can reply to this message in strict confidence and your anonymity will be preserved."
