Ashby could get another 'Party in the Park' style event next year.

After the success of the Coronation event which was held at the Bath Grounds last year, early plans are being made for something similar in 2025.

The May 2023, event attracted around 5,000 people as people showed huge support for it.

Ashby de la Zouch Town Council's Finance and Events Committee discussed the possibility of another such event at its meeting last month.

But nothing will be decided until the next meeting of the committee in October - as to if and when it would be held.

Town Centre Manager, Stuart Benson, is working on the potential project.

Committee chair, Cllr Chris Smith said: "Last year's event was seen to be very successful.

"There was a lot of good feedback from it and this would be something similar."

The Town Centre Manager added: "It's something the community could come to and enjoy."

Pinder's Circus will be visiting Ashby from Monday, October 7, until Sunday, October 13 - and the event will be held on the Bath Grounds.

An 'all action packed show' is promised by Pinder's.

There has also been a request from Street Treats and Beats for two further events in 2025.

They would be held two-days - the same as this weekend's on Saturday and Sunday.

Next year, the plan to hold Street Treats and Beats on June 28-29, and August 30-31.

But the council committee noted that the June dates would involve a potential clash with the Ashby Sport Fun Day - and organisers would be approached about alternative dates.

The Town Centre Manager reported that some concerns had been raised regarding car parking along Station Road at the Street Treats & Beats event on May 31 - and this would need to be addressed in the event management plan for any subsequent dates.
