Specsavers says its move to new premises in Market Street marks a 'substantial investment' for the Ashby-based opticians.

The move not only involves relocating to a new, larger, premises, Specsavers also plans to extend its optical and audiology services for the local community.

While the new store will remain on Market Street in the Dean and Smedley building - and the new, expanded premises is set to open in June.

"We're really excited about our new store which is much bigger than our previous location," says Specsavers Ashby store director, Kuljinder Bains.

"The new, larger premises will enable us to expand our team, while the additional testing rooms, which includes one dedicated for audiology, means we will have more appointments available.

The new store will be in the former Dean and Smedley building

"Our aim is to enhance our customer experience, both in terms of additional space, but also from a design and layout point of view. We look forward to welcoming customers and can't wait to hear what they think."

The team at Specsavers Ashby say they are passionate about providing health care that will benefit the eyes and ears of the local community - and bring a significant amount of knowledge and experience within the optics and audiology field.

The new, expanded store will have five testing rooms, and state-of-the-art OCT equipment - which can help detect treatable eye conditions sooner - has been installed.

Customers will also benefit from a dedicated audiology service that will provide full hearing checks and assessments along with earwax removal.

Kuljinder added: "As well as improving the environment for our customers, we were also keen to ensure our team benefited from the move too, and to accommodate the new store we have recruited additional colleagues to join our team.

"We're excited to create a space that allows the team to continue to flourish and enables them to deliver the best possible customer experience."
