An Ashby nightclub's daytime event last month went so well there is another one being staged this week.

Manhattan's launched a daytime club event in April - to give the the over-30s a chance to 'boogie in the daytime'.

Katy Ferrari, the club's general manager, said the idea came from seeing similar events across the country.

So, she decided Ashby was the ideal place to do something similar - and make the most of the current 'craze'.

Katy said the first event - held on a Saturday afternoon - was a success.

She said: "The first event went really well, we had a fantastic crowd and a great atmosphere.

"Everyone really enjoyed it, giving us loads of positive feedback, and then asking for the date of the next event!

"So, we're are running this second one the same as the first, open from 4pm-9pm for over-30s then open to everyone from 9 'til 3am. Tickets are on sale now at £5."

The next daytime club is being held on Saturday, June 1.

A similar event was held in Nottingham recently and was a big success.

Manhattan's hopes this will be the start of a string of different events and promises to make them bigger and better as they grow.

Katy told Ashby Nub News last month: "We decided it looked like a great idea when they did the first one in Nottingham.

"But we get a lot of customers saying they feel old or it's too late, so we thought we'd give them an afternoon disco for their own age group - and they can be back home before 10pm if they choose to, we are open until 3am if they wish to stay."
