Junction 12 of the A42 at Ashby has been blocked due to a multi-vehicle collision.

A spokeswoman for Leicestershire Police said: "We received a report at 4.03pm in relation to a three vehicle collision on the A42 at junction 12 southbound.

"Minor injuries. CAS in attendance and the road is blocked."

Highways England posted the information at 4.10pm and drivers are being warned to expect delays in the area.

Motorists are being advised to take an alternatibe route if they can.

Drivers are advised to exit at J12 and rejoin immediately to continue on to Birmingham.
