Ashby Ivanhoe League Fixtures Are Suspended For A Month

By Graham Hill 31st Dec 2020

The Midland Football League - which includes Ashby Ivanhoe FC - has suspended all fixtures until the end of January.

The introduction of Tier 4 to Leicestershire and surrounding counties means there will be no football played below the National League.

Ashby Ivanhoe have already posted a message on social media following the new coronavirus restrictions which reads: "With the announcement that Leicestershire will be going in to Tier 4, all adult (open age) football has to be postponed.

"This includes training and is effective from midnight Wednesday."

The Midland Football League confirmed their stance earlier today (Thursday).

A statement reads: "Following yesterday's announcement on the placing on the majority of MFL clubs in tier 4, meaning that all affected clubs cannot train or play matches, the board have decided to immediately suspend all league fixtures until 31st January 2021.

"We will continue to review the situation in line with further Government announcements and update you accordingly."
