Ashby Ivanhoe have appointed Anthony Hurd as their new Reserve (Knights) Team Manager.

He joins Chris Wood as the latest in a series of new faces at the club this year.

Chris is Ivanhoe's new Senior Coach who will work with the first team as well as the Knights and the u18 Midweek squads.

And Anthony is the latest arrival at the Midland League club as part of what Ivanhoe officials describe as a collective senior management team.

Club Chairman, Stuart Bonser, said: "On behalf of the club it is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the appointment of Anthony Hurd as the new Reserve (Knights) Team Manager.

"We received some very good applications, and this is testament to how Ashby Ivanhoe FC is respected and recognised in the wider football world.

"Anthony is familiar with the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division with his time at Barlestone FC and this will bring experience to the existing players. I wish Anthony a warm welcome to our Club and every success in the future"

Anthony said: "I am delighted to join Ashby Ivanhoe FC for a few reasons, one being the drive and determination of the chairman who has some exciting plans for the club.

"Secondly, I feel the club and the first team manager, Andy Gray, have the perfect ethos in developing and progressing players and this will give me the platform to grow as manager and in the direction I want to go.

"These factors will definitely lead to a successful time at the club and I cannot wait to get started with the management team and players."

The club says it is committed to its plans to progress the on-field ambitions and to bring Step Four football to Ashby in the coming few years.

Stuart Bonser added: "I have always believed that Ashby has the key components to progress and sustain a Step Four football Club.

"To achieve this we have to run parallel with what we are doing on the field to what we are doing off it, and I feel that we are now poised to make that push in the coming seasons with recent off the field progress and now an aligned management team from youth to senior".

First Team Manager Andy Gray added: "Anthony is another great addition to our management and coaching staff.

"Having worked with him briefly in the past, I know he'll bring with him a passion and desire to improve our club.

"One of the Chairman's and my immediate goals was to have a collective senior management team who are like minded in their footballing ethics.

"This has been further cemented by Anthony's appointment. I am looking forward, massively, to working with him and our other recent additions, as soon as we are able to do so of course"
