Ashby de la Zouch Town Council has announced there are vacancies for two new councillors and have invited applications for the roles.

The councillors will represent the Holywell Ward, which is the Burton Road/Smisby Road area of the town.

At the moment, the identity of the councillors who are stepping down have not been revealed by the council.

But the town council website no longer lists the names of Andreas Ioannou-Nikou and Henry Harris under the Holywell Ward section.

The notice of vacancies for the councillors was released this morning.

It reads: "Notice is hereby given that TWO vacancies exist in the Office of Town Councillor for the Holywell Ward of the Parish of Ashby de la Zouch in the District of North West Leicestershire.

"Any 10 electors in the said parish ward wishing to request an election to fill the vacancies should do so by writing (a form for this purpose is available on request) to Mrs B Smith, The Chief Executive, North

West Leicestershire District Council, Council Offices, Coalville, Leicestershire within 14 days (computed in accordance with Rule 2 of Schedule 2 of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rules 1986) of the date of this Notice."
