Ashby Concert Band is back playing live after a two and a half year gap

Ashby Concert Band is returning to play live this summer after a break of 30 months.

The band will perform An Evening of Music from the Stage and Screen at Holy Trinity Church, Ashby de la Zouch, on Saturday, June 18.

But the last time the band performed in concert was, incredibly, December 2019.

The performance will commence at 7:30pm with a feast of well-known pieces from the Big Screen and West End.

The band will be raising money for The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Service who serve this area but rely completely on donations, with each lifesaving mission costing £1,700.

Musical Director, Adrian Ashton, said: "It's absolutely fantastic to be back making music together.

"We're planning a great evening of music from film and stage."

The programme of music includes firm film favourites such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Dances With Wolves, as well as stage music from The King and I and Fiddler on the Roof.

Tickets will are available from Ticket Source - and if past concert are anything to go by, it is advisable to secure your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
