Ashby company Journeo PLC on Friday said it has received purchase orders worth £1.3million for the supply of its public transport information systems.

The Charterpoint Way-based transport information systems and technical services provider said the purchase orders are part of the second tranche of the Transforming Cities Fund announced in December 2019, and include the supply of Journeo's double-sided thin-film transistor display systems, reports Morning Star

Shares in Journeo were up 14 per cent at 57.00 pence in London on Friday.

"These new displays systems equipped with remote condition monitoring extend the core platform for our content management software which was delivered during last year as part of the £1.9million award announced in February," said said Chief Executive Russ Singleton.

"Our innovative design approach reduces the need for periodic maintenance visits which not only reduces travel and associated pollution, but importantly, reduces whole life cycle costs for our customers,"

Journeo said it expects approximately £1million worth of purchase orders to be delivered in the current financial year.
