Ashby company Journeo PLC has announced it has received new purchase orders worth £1.1million for its public transport information systems.

The Charter Point Way-based company said the purchase orders include the supply of its latest double-sided solar powered display systems.

Morning Star says the company did not say who had placed the purchase orders.

Shares in Journeo were up 13 per cent at 112.00 pence in London on Wednesday.

Around £700,000 is expected to be delivered in the current financial year, Journeo added.

"We have been investing in renewable energy powered technologies for some time now, and we are delighted that the orders being announced today, include a number of our latest low energy solar-powered systems," said Chief Executive Russ Singleton.

In January, Journeo received purchase orders worth £1.3 million for the supply of its public transport information systems from an unnamed northern transport partnership.

Journeo says it delivers advanced information systems and transit related technical services to customers within smarter-cities, based increasingly on its powerful technologies, services and software.
