Another five years for Ashby BID following vote
By James Smith 4th Nov 2026
Local businesses have backed the BID in Ashby for another five years.
Local companies have voted in favour of renewing the Ashby Business Improvement District (BID) for a second five-year term.
The vote will mean Ashby BID runs until March 2032.
Organisers promise to deliver "an ambitious programme of investment, events, business support, marketing, town centre improvements and safety initiatives" for the "benefit of local businesses and the wider community".
The renewed BID is expected to invest almost £1.5 million into Ashby over the next five years.
The BID board commented: "We are delighted that businesses have once again shown their confidence in Ashby BID and the work we do.
"The campaign allowed many views to be shared both for and against but with the result now in, we will work for all of the businesses and for the betterment of our town.
"Over the next five years we will continue to follow the business plan developed through extensive consultation with local businesses. We will build on the success of flagship events such as the Ashby Christmas Market and Ashby Soapbox, maintain our support for business safety and promotion, and help shape the future development of the town centre."
"Most importantly, this vote ensures Ashby continues to have a strong, independent voice at a time of significant local government change. Together, we can continue making Ashby a vibrant, welcoming and prosperous place for businesses, residents and visitors."
