Ashby's Business Improvement District has highlighted a number of new businesses set to open in the town centre.

The BID says on its website that the town has seen a decrease in vacant units.

It then lists a number of businesses that are - or have already - opened in Ashby.

The town has been hit by several major closures in recent years - including losing three banks.

But some of those sites - notably Loungers moving into the former HSBC Bank - are being filled again.

BID also points out the imminent arrival of Spanish and Caribbean-style restaurants.

The BID statement says: "Ashby De La Zouch town has seen a remarkable decrease in vacant units, paving the way for a thriving and vibrant community.

"Exciting new additions, such as the transformation of the former Monkey Tree into a delightful Spanish restaurant, a new Caribbean dining experience coming to Bath Street, and the opening of Loungers in our iconic HSBC building.

"These are set to enhance the town's culinary scene.

"In Mill Lane Mews, we welcome the arrival of Flor, the ultimate flooring provider, and the trendy Freesista boutique.

"Don't miss the grand opening of Lil Bo's Deli, soon to be serving up the most delectable treats.

"Over at Bakery Court, indulge in the interesting creations of XXX Buns and keep an eye out for the upcoming Sugar Hut.

"For those seeking a healthier lifestyle, Restore Health & Fitness on The Green has got you covered.

"It's clear that our town's progress is both inspiring and promising."
