Ashby area venues will form part of Leicester Comedy Festival in February

Ashby will form part of the 2022 Leicester Comedy Festival with a number of shows and events being staged in the area.
The festival is returning in February, celebrating its 29th anniversary with a line up of hundreds of shows across the county.
The line up features over 560 shows, over 800 performances and 64 venues.
As always, the festival hosts TV names, performing solo shows and the 2022 line-up will see a veritable who's-who of comedy stars take to stages across the city – including Angela Barnes, Ahir Shah, Catherine Bohart, Ed Gamble, Henning Wehn, Katherine Ryan, Maisie Adam, Mark Watson, Nabil Abdulrashid, Nick Helm, Pam Ayres, Rachel Parris, Ria Lina, Richard Herring, Rosie Jones, Ross Noble, Seann Walsh, Simon Brodkin, Stewart Lee, Suzi Ruffell, Tim Key, Tony Slattery and many more.
Venues in and around Ashby will also be forming part of the festival.
And shows in this area are scheduled to include:
- A cartoon trail in Ashby town centre which begins on February 3
- On the same Thursday, there is a comedy night at the Lyric Rooms
- Moira Furnace hosts Funny Folk Tales For Grown Ups, on Saturday, February 5
- Conkers in Moira is hosting an Only Fools and Horses dinner night on February 4
- Also on February 4, Ashby Library will be welcoming Giggly Wiggly Reader for the children
