A42 South Of Ashby Blocked Northbound After Multi-Vehicle Collision

There was a 'multi-vehicle' collision on the A42 outside Ashby this afternoon (Friday) with caused the carriageway to be completely blocked.

The incident happened on the northbound section between Junction 11 at Measham and Junction 12 south of Ashby.

Highways England issued an update shortly before 7pm which reads: "One lane now running through scene, work is ongoing to clear the remaining vehicles."

And earlier tweet was posted at around 4.45: "#A42 northbound between J11 and J12 there is a multi vehicle collision with the road currently blocked.

"Emergency services and #TrafficOfficers en route."
