A42 was closed near Ashby due to morning collision - emergency services were called to the scene

The A42 near Ashby was closed on Monday after a three-vehicle collision.

National Highways reported that the route was shut southbound between Junction 12 (Ashby/Measham) and Junction 11 (Appleby Magna) because of the incident.

All emergency services including Leicestershire Police were in attendance at around 10am.

Investigation work was taking place at scene before the route was reopened.

The incident added to the fact that the M42 is also closed in both directions between J10 and J9 until 3rd January 2023 for planned HS2 works.
