70-year-old pedestrian in life-threatening condition following car crash in Ashby

Leicestershire Police are carrying out an investigation following a man in his 70s becoming seriously injured by a car at the junction between Hill Street and Kilwardby Street.
Police were called to the location just after 9.30pm on Monday 15 September by the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
A man in his 70s was treated at the scene and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In a statement published by the Police, they said: "Following initial enquiries at the scene, it was reported that a silver car had been involved but had left the area prior to emergency services attending. No arrests have been made at this time."
Detective Constable Alison Briance, from Leicestershire Police's Serious Collisions Investigations Unit (SCIU) said: "Our investigation to establish the circumstance of what happened and locate the driver involved is continuing.
"If that person has seen this appeal, then please do the right thing and make yourself known to us.
"I'm also appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward. This includes any eyewitnesses, motorists with dashcam footage or anyone with CCTV or doorbell footage. Anything you can provide could help."
