An Ashby company has been hired to help speed up the roll out of 5G networks across Europe.

Bluesky International, an established and respected aerial mapping company based at The Station, in Station Road, will work with LAND INFO Worldwide LLC, the premier provider of mapping solutions for 5G wireless in North America.

US-based LAND INFO hopes that by working with Bluesky International in the UK and Hexagon's HxGN Content Programme team in continental Europe, it can extend this reach in the 5G industry internationally.

"It is widely acknowledged, the signal propagation characteristics of 5G cell design requires a level of detail and accuracy that is best met with airborne derived data," said Rachel Tidmarsh, Managing Director of Bluesky International.

"The combination of our data capture expertise with LAND INFO's proven technical approach and Hexagon's advanced sensors will, it is hoped, inform decision making and help speed the roll out of 5G across the region."

LAND INFO President Nick Hubing added: "Our international team, comprising Bluesky and Hexagon, will give 5G wireless operators in Europe direct local access to the geospatial data and expertise they need to develop state-of-the-art telecommunications networks."

Colorado company LAND INFO entered into the collaboration with Bluesky and Hexagon based on their acknowledged leadership in aerial data acquisition and established sales networks across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Bluesky International is an innovative aerial survey company with offices in Great Britain, Ireland and the USA.

They continually strives to develop new products and services by embracing new technology and methods.

This has resulted in the development of some unique products such as the National Tree Map (NTM).

These datasets underpin long term contracts with local and central governments and many major blue-chip companies from a range of market sectors including financial services, utilities, telecoms, web portals, construction and environment.

Bluesky International operates the world's most advanced airborne sensor, which comprises vertical and oblique cameras as well as a LiDAR, to create accurate and detailed virtual cities.

Bluesky International also operates the only LiDAR system in the world that incorporates a thermal sensor and survey grade camera.

These, combined with other systems, puts Bluesky International in the enviable position of being able to provide customers with unique and cost-effective geospatial solutions.
