Hounds Daycare near Ashby offers some seasonal health tips for dog owners this Autumn

Halloween is the perfect time to remind dog owners about seasonal care for their pets. As the weather cools down, there are a few things to keep in mind:

• Joint Care: The colder months can be tough on dogs with joint issues. Consider adding supplements like glucosamine to their diet and ensure they have a warm, comfortable place to rest.

• Check for Ticks: Even though it's cooler, ticks are still active in autumn. Regularly check your dog's coat after walks in wooded areas or long grass, and talk to your vet about tick prevention.

• Firework Anxiety: With Bonfire Night just around the corner, now is a good time to start preparing your dog for potential fireworks. Create a cozy, quiet space, and use desensitizing techniques or calming products if your dog struggles with loud noises.
