Police Tell Drivers To Act Responsibly After Dealing With Dangerous Parking At Hicks Lodge

North West Leicestershire Police had to warn drivers about dangerous parking at Hicks Lodge on Saturday.

The Willesley Woodside National Forest Cycle Centre attracted a number of visitors following the easing of the Coronavirus lockdown by the Government last weekend.

But that meant some cars lining up to park on a 'blind bend' on the road outside Hicks Lodge and police attending to try and clear some of the problems that caused.

North West Leicestershire Police posted about the way some drivers had parked - alongside photos of the vehicles, saying they had been 'dealt with'.

The post read: "The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day for a walk or cycle.

"However please ensure that you park responsibly and consider whether your vehicle could be causing danger to other road users.

"Unfortunately some visitors to Hicks Lodge chose to park dangerously on a blind bend causing passing motorists to have to travel on the opposite side of the road into the path of incoming traffic.

"They were dealt with accordingly."
