Photo Gallery: Ashby Statutes attracts big crowds to town centre as fair makes its return after year away

By Graham Hill 20th Sep 2021

Ashby Statutes returned to the town centre last night (Friday) - and attracted a huge crowd of fair-goers.

The traditional annual event has been a fixture in the town for hundreds of years.

But the Statutes did not come to Ashby in its recognised form last year due to the Covid pandemic.

However, the Pat Collins Fairs-run event showed it is as popular as ever on its opening night as people flocked to Market Street and Brook Street which will be the Statutes' home until the final night on Tuesday.

Ashby Statutes organisers say 'It's great to be back'.

Here are some photos from what was a hugely popular night as one of the highlights of Ashby's events calendar returned in style.

You can see a video of the night on our Facebook page.
