Smisby Road in Ashby is likely to be closed until a week on Friday (January 15) for more road works.

The busy link to the Ashby by pass had been closed off for several weeks before Christmas.

And now more works close between Meredith Road and The Callis mean that drivers are being diverted.

Other routes to the by-pass are via Burton Road and Nottingham Road.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has also agreed to a TemporaryTraffic Regulation Order and a road closure is needed on The Moor between Moor Lane and Prestons Lane on the 4th January 2021 for four days.

The closure if for public safety for Severn Trent Water and Western Power Distribution to facilitate new utility connections.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: A511 Ashby Road, Ravenstone; A511 From Roundabout At The Junction Of A42 A511 And A512 To Ashby Road In Ravenstone With Snibston, Coleorton; Flagstaff Roundabout, Ashby de la Zouch; A512 Ashby Road, Coleorton and vice versa.
