UNTIL Friday 17th June

Moira Methodist Church

A three week exhibition in Moira showcasing events which have occurred during the past 70 years of the Queen's reign concludes this Friday with a performance by local choir,

Exhibits depicting Royal, British, Worldwide and even local events have been on display over the last two weeks at the Moira Methodist Church on Measham Road.

Whether it should be the Queen's Coronation in 1953 or the Blur/Oasis fight for Number 1 in 1995, an earthquake in Bishops Castle, Shropshire or the 'Pig on the wall' at Moira's very own Rawdon Arms (or Chain house as it was known) at the village's crossroads, are some of the many occasions featured amongst the displays.

One of the many impressive presentations is an eight-foot Union Jack Flag featuring around 1,600 hand-knitted roses created by the members of the congregation which proudly hangs at the front of the Church.

The three-week event will come to an end this Friday with choir Melody Blue performing 'Singing in the Reign' a selection of songs from the seven decades since Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation.

The evening's entertainment will cost £5 a head, again with light refreshments served throughout.

Tickets for the 17th June event are available from Alyson Kirkwood, email: [email protected]
