Roman Villas & Peasant Farms - a talk by Peter Liddle.

Peter is a regular visitor to St Helen's and his talks always interest, inform & amuse but never disappoint.

Of his subject he says, "Accounts of the Roman countryside are dominated by Roman villas and, until recently, these were the only sites investigated. It is now clear that villas were a small minority of rural sites and we are now getting a clear idea of the nature of the ordinary 'peasant' sites that greatly outnumber them."
