TODAY'S ASHBY SUNRISEAshby fire crew was called out to a collision between two cars in Newhall on Thursday night - which saw one person having to extricate themselves from the crashed vehicle.
They were joined by Swadlincote Fire Blue and the two crews dealt with the incident which happened just before 9pm at Wood Lane.

Schools in and around Ashby are to get a second camera car which will patrol outside the gates in a bid to prosecute parents who park illegally during drop off and pick up times.
FIRE crews from Ashby and Coalville were called out to a road traffic accident at Flagstaff Island at Junction 13 of the A42 on Wednesday evening.
But they have confirmed there were no injuries as a result of a collision between a car and a heavy goods vehicle.

Ashby will find out on Thursday night if it is among the winners in the Great British High Street Awards.
Market Street has been shortlisted in the Rising Star category for the 2019 event - a section which celebrates up and coming local communities who are on their way to transforming for the future.Ashby's main thoroughfare is up against the likes of Daventry, Rochdale, Colchester and Northwich who are all going for the prize.
Labour councillors are calling for action to stop the 'flooding crisis' affecting Ashby.
Labour district and county councillors have be campaigning for agencies to work together to manage flood risks and plan for emergencies.

Labour Councillors are pressing the District Council to identify areas of 'Local Green Space' in and around Ashby in the Local Plan, currently being reviewed.
Designation as Local Green Space gives beauty spots and recreation areas strong protection against development in planning law.

A drop-in event to view plans for the new Holywell Spring Farm Primary School on Burton Road in Ashby is being held this week
Organised by Leicestershire County Council, it will give people a chance to see what the project will look like.
Ashby Ivanhoe Under17 Knights continued their unbeaten start to the season with a commanding 8-1 win over Leicester Bharat at Hood Park.
The goals came from Wright and Ward, who scored two apiece.
