Year six students at Ashby's Woodcote Primary School are self-isolating after a pupil has tested positive for coronavirus.

Headteacher Suzanne Jones notified all parents today that the Willowbrook Close school had been advised of the confirmed case by Public Health England.

Mrs Jones writes: "We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"The small number of children who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be staying at home for 14 days.

"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they remain well."

The letter goes on to explain the Government's advice on self-isolating, details coronavirus symptoms and reiterates measures to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

Mrs Jones told Ashby Nub News in a statement today (Mon): "We have contacted the DfE helpline and whilst we await guidance from them, we have made the decision, following the DfE published advice, to send the Year 6 bubble home."
