What's on in the Ashby area this weekend

Top comedy returns to Ashby tonight (Thursday) - and there is more if you want to travel a few miles into South Derbyshire tomorrow (Friday).

Funhouse Comedy Club returns to the Lyric Rooms, Ashby tonight for another great night of laughter.

Topping the bill is Perrier Award Winner, author, broadcaster and comedian Dominic Holland, father of Spiderman actor Tom Holland.

He has made numerous appearances on radio and TV including 'Have I Got News For You', 'The Clive James Show', 'The Royal Variety Show' and 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks'.

Tomorrow (Friday) Melbourne Sporting Partnership has another great night of laughter.

Topping the bill is Spaniard/Welshman Ignacio Lopez, who has performed for the Wales football squad and opened for James Dean Bradfield of Manic Street Preachers; with his unique brand of sarcastic observations and witty lines.

He gives his audience a taste of what it's like to be the outsider, explaining cultural differences with hilarious results.

Opening the night will be the incredibly likeable, hilarious, warm and unique Emmanuel Sonubi.

Sunday, sees another one of Brew's Lazy Sunday afternoon sessions.

The Market Street venue will have Mark Sharp & Dave Monks playing live this Sunday.

Easter is fast approaching, and this Monday sees the start of the Easter Chocolate Workshop at Moment In Thyme in Pass Courtyard.

Children can learn how to make their own chocolate Easter egg and lollipops and get to take them home.

They learn about tempering chocolate. It is fun 90 minute session in the Easter holidays and runs until April 22.
