This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities hopefully there is something for everyone.

The Lyric Rooms in Ashby celebrates Oktoberfest on Saturday.

There will be live music, German food and beer plus full Oktoberfest decoration at the Lower Church Street venue.

A three course meal is accompanied by live oomph band, DEEP DOWN BRASS!

There will be drinking and dancing games throughout the evening to participate in, classic oompah with a mix of modern covers to really get you up and out of your seats. Fancy dress welcome and certainly encouraged.

Pinder's Circus is in town at the moment at the Bath Grounds.

Come and enjoy an action-filled family event, guaranteed to bring you all the thrills and spills of the big top.

Bite down on some colourful candyfloss or freshly made popcorn and wash it down with a refreshing ice slush whilst enjoying the famous Pinder's show.

The Venture Theatre has Lil' Jimmy Reed playing live at the North Street venue.

Hailing from the USA, musician Leon Atkins filled in one night for famed blues star Jimmy Reed, earning him the nickname of Lil' Jimmy Reed.

He has headlined festivals all over the world. With his authentic Louisiana blues sound, Lil' Jimmy teamed up with Bob Hall on piano and Hilary Blythe on bass and is visiting Ashby-de-la-Zouch for the first time as part of their 2024 UK tour.

It is Apple Day in Donisthorpe on Sunday.

Donisthorpe Community Orchard, Acresford Road, will have live music from Saltation and The Coal Tits.

You can try some pickled onions and preserves and there will be community stalls as well as an apple press and cider competition.

On Saturday, there is a guided tour of Guided Tour of St Helen's Churchyard in Ashby.

This is a brand new tour, where you can hear about some of the Ashby personalities of centuries gone by who are buried here.

You can learn from the grim report of the Board of Health in 1849 and listen to the tale of the bodysnatchers.
