When Lewis and Catherine set up EweMove Ashby-de-la-Zouch, they knew they wanted to offer their clients better services by implementing a more personalised, friendly, and effective strategy to help their clients get the best possible deal.

In the year since setting up the Ashby-de-la-Zouch EweMove branch, Catherine and Lewis Potter have used their knowledge of the area and a personalised service to build an excellent reputation locally for their friendly and accessible services.

Married couple Lewis and Catherine established the Ashby branch of EweMove in May 2024 and have since flourished in the area.

Before pursuing careers in property, Catherine was a teacher, and Lewis worked on mortgages; however, both had previous experience in the rental market.

Since leaving their respective careers in 2022, the couple decided they wanted to develop their existing knowledge of the rental market. They felt they could offer a better experience for their clients than they had received from buying their own home.

'We found our experience buying our own rentals was never great,' explained Catherine. 'The service we got from other agents was terrible, to be honest.

'From our point of view, we felt passed around. You would phone up a branch and feel like a burden, they wouldn't know who you were, and you were just saying the same stuff over and over again to different members of their team.'

Reflecting on their experiences over the years of buying and renting from various agencies, they decided, 'there must be a better way of doing it.'

Lewis and Catherine opened the Ashby branch as part of the wider 'EweMove' family, meaning they could draw on the marketing, expertise, and support from the larger brand while still making the branch their own.

One of the key differences between how Lewis and Catherine run their Buying and Letting Agency compared to other local brands is that they pride themselves on working directly with clients from the beginning to the end of the process. As the only members of staff in their branch, they can form closer relationships with their clients, getting the best possible outcome for them.

They also pride themselves on being accessible to their clients at all hours of the day, not limited by shop opening and closing times. This means when clients have a question or concern, they can get in touch via WhatsApp and receive a quick answer directly from them.

Their people-centred approach is what sets them apart from their competition.

Lewis explained: 'We know every single one of our buyers and every single one of our properties off the top of our heads. One buyer mentioned it was more like dealing with friends, and that's exactly what we want. We don't want the whole suited and booted corporate waffle.'

It is also important for them to know the area they are working in, so they can advise people on local schools, public transport, and details as simple as how far away the local pub is.

The first house Lewis and Catherine bought was in Gresley, with a few rental properties in Woodville. They have since purchased their home in Ashby, giving them great local knowledge and a fuller understanding of the housing market.

Their decision not to take the traditional approach by having a shop front also gives them better flexibility to hold meetings outside of the usual nine-to-five.

They are therefore able to have meetings with clients in the comfort of their own homes, and they can be much more flexible with their availability.

They also offer 100% accompanied viewings, meaning one or both of them will attend all viewings and be able to answer the important questions buyers may have, rather than being shown around a property by someone who has never stepped foot in there before.

It is for these reasons that they have never had a review lower than 5 stars, with one happy buyer saying: 'Lewis and Catherine have honestly been godsends to us in a stressful situation made easier by their breath-of-fresh-air professionalism. [...] Both of their expertise and friendly, approachable attitude combined makes for a great team and we are so thankful to both of you for what you have done for us.'

Another happy client said: 'The team were exceptional from the moment of meeting them. Communication was excellent, providing the answers to our questions in a timely manner.

'The photos taken and ultimately used to sell our properly were fantastic [..] Would highly recommend.'

It's this hands-on, fully personalised approach to their service that sets Lewis and Catherine apart from other selling and letting agencies, offering a person-centred approach with the single goal of getting the most out of each listing for their clients.
