Police release video of man wanted in connection with Ashby de la Zouch town centre assault

Police are hunting for a man after an attack in Market Street last November.

The assault left a 33-year-old man with a broken ankle as well as cuts and bruising to his face.

Leicestershire Police say victim was attacked from behind and punched in the jaw.

CCTV footage has now been released (below), with officers wanting to speak to the man in the video.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to Market Street in the early hours of Saturday, November 4, after it was reported a 33-year-old man was hit from behind and also punched in the jaw.

"The victim was taken to hospital after sustaining cuts and bruising to his face.

"He also suffered a fractured ankle after the attack knocked him to the floor.

"As part of the ongoing enquiries, detectives are keen to speak to the man in the CCTV footage as he could assist with the investigation.

"Anyone who knows who he is or has information which could assist is asked to report online HERE, or by calling 101, quoting crime reference number 23*68463
