Leicestershire Police are investigating a fatal collision at the British Superbike Championships at Donington Park and want to speak to anyone who attended and may have video footage of the incident.

It took place on the last day of the event held at the circuit – around 4.30pm on Sunday, October 2.

The incident happened close to a part of the track known as 'the Wheatcroft straight'.

One of the riders, 26-year-old Chrissy Rouse, was taken to hospital but sadly passed away on Thursday, October 6.

Officers from Leicestershire Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are carrying out an investigation, working alongside the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board and MotorSport Vision Racing.

Durham Constabulary are also providing support to Chrissy's family during this difficult time.

As part of the investigation, police want to trace anyone who was at the event on Sunday and witnessed the incident or anyone with video footage on their mobile phone.

PC Adam Wilson, from the SCIU, said: "Our investigation is still in the early stages, but I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision to contact us. I'm particularly keen to speak to any spectators with footage of the incident.

"Any information provided could be of great help."
