Photos from scene of A42 crash near Ashby show the damage caused by four vehicle collision

A series of photos have been released by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service of this morning's (Friday) crash on the A42 between Measham and Ashby.
The incident caused long tailbacks on the northbound carriageway.
Highways England said the dual carriageway was closed from Junction 11 at Measham with traffic being diverted.
At one stage, the tailback was reported to be almost two and a half miles long.
Leicestershire Police warned drivers of the crash this morning on social media - and fire crews from Ashby and Coalville were called to the scene.
The police initially said: "Please be advised that the A42 Northbound carriageway between junction 12 and 13 is currently blocked."
The photos, which were posted on the Coalville Fire Crew's twitter page, show a number of cars and a truck were involved.
But one image shows a car has been completely written off and lost its roof following the collision.
However, the fire crew have also posted a message saying that all involved were wearing seatbelts.
Leicestershire Police later reported that one person had been trapped - but 'did not have any life changing injuries'.
Ashby Fire Crew added: "One casualty was rescued from the car and is in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service."
The Coalville fire crew twitter post reads: "We attended a road traffic collision this morning with Ashby Fire Crew - involving one lorry and three vehicles on the A42, junctions 13 to 12.
"Luckily the drivers of all the vehicles were wearing seat belts!"
Junction 13 is Flagstaff Island at Ashby while Junction 12 is the Packington Interchange.
Highways England kept drivers updated on the delays and posted: "The A42 is BLOCKED northbound between the B5006 (J12) and the A511 (J13) near #Ashby-de-la-Zouch following a collision involving two cars and a HGV.
"There are currently delays of 30 minutes above normal journey times."
Highways England later tweeted: "Please be aware that the A42 is now CLOSED northbound between J11 and J13 near Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
"There are 2.4 miles of congestion on the approach to the closure.

"Vehicles are three cars and a lorry.
"Leicestershire Fire and Rescue attended as one person was trapped.
"They do not have any life changing or life threatening injuries.
"One lane now has traffic running on it while the other remains closed."
