Man, 24, arrested after reports of a 'serious sexual assault' in Ashby town centre

A man was arrested following reports that a teenage girl had been the victim of a 'serious sexual assault' in Ashby last weekend.
Officers were called to an area around North Street on Saturday night - and taped off the scene while further enquiries were made.
The next day, a 24-year-old man was arrested.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told Ashby Nub News: "Shortly after 10.30pm on Saturday (September 16) a teenage girl reported that she had been the victim of a serious sexual assault in the area of North Street, Ashby.
"Officers were deployed and a scene preservation was put in place.
"Following further enquiries, a 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident the following day (Sunday, September 17).
"He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue."
