Hospice Hope, a registered charity that provides emotional and practical support to local people with life-limiting conditions, has undergone a major rebrand.

It will be known as Bright Hope in North West Leicestershire.

The hospice says it has changed its name to better reflect its services and the people it serves.

Bright Hope was founded in 2002, initially running weekly Support Cafés across Ashby and North West Leicestershire, where people and carers can drop in for the afternoon, receive support, relax and meet new people.

From April 2017 until the COVID pandemic, it offered further respite care at Hope House in Griffydam, where people received support and complementary therapies, and enjoyed activities and nutritious, home-cooked food.

As the charity moves into a new era, the hospice says it needs a name that more accurately reflects its services – counselling, befriending, complementary therapies, a 'way back to wellness programme' and its three support cafés – and its plans to develop further.

Being known as a hospice also made it more challenging to apply for grant funding and had become a barrier to people understanding what type of support it offers.

Bright Hope says it will still offer the same services, support and friendly welcome, just with a new name, logo and strapline 'Giving support when you need it'.

It has also updated its mission statement to include a commitment to support people with life-limiting conditions that don't necessarily reduce their life expectancy but affect their quality of life.

As part of the rebrand, it has launched a new website HERE which contains all the latest news, updates and information about its services and activities.

Coalville-based sales and marketing agency Quiet Storm Solutions has supported Bright Hope for over 10 years and delivered the rebrand and new website.

The rebrand comes ahead of Bright Hope's move to its new, purpose-built state-of-the-art day centre in early 2024.

North West Leicestershire District Council has provided land in Swannington for the facility, and local house builder Bloor Homes is carrying out the building work at no cost to the charity.

Stewart Shepherd, Bright Hope's Chair, said: "Our rebrand has been a long time in the making, but the day is finally here, and we're delighted to be ushering in a new identity for the exciting next chapter of our journey.

"Although our previous name, Hospice Hope, served us well for the past 20 years, we felt it no longer reflected the breadth of services we now offer and the diverse range of people and conditions we now support.

"Our new name encapsulates who we are now and will enable us to develop further once we move into Bright Hope House and introduce more activity streams to provide vital help and support to local people."
