Part of Lower Packington Road will be closed to traffic for much of the day next week.

Leicestershire County Council Highways has agreed to a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order on the route to the south of Ashby.

The closure is for public safety - and the County Council says it is so that work can be carried out to replace speed cushions.

Lower Packington Road, between Avenue Road and Windsor Road, will be closed on September 12, for one day between 9.30am and 2.30pm

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Tamworth Road, Measham Road, Ashby de la Zouch; Measham Road, Bridge Street, Heather Lane, Normanton Road, Ashby Road; Packington; From Lower Packington Road to Ashby Road, Ashby de la Zouch; and vice versa.

During the closures, alternative routes available to all traffic can be viewed HERE.
