Detectives are still appealing for information and dashcam footage after a driver rammed a police car twice in Ashby before speeding off - narrowly missing hitting an officer.

The incident happened in Moira Road, shortly before 9pm on Thursday, 10 September.

Two officers from the North West Leicestershire Neighbourhood Policing Area indicated for the driver to stop, after noticing that the silver 4x4 may have been using false number plates.

The car did initially come to a halt for the officers - but then drove head-on into the police car twice, before driving off at speed towards Ashby.

One of the police officers managed to smash a back windows - narrowly escaping being hit by the car in the process.

A Leicestershire Police spokesman told Ashby Nub News today (Mon): "No arrests have been made and enquiries are continuing.

"We would still ask anyone with information regarding the incident to get in touch."
