Ashby marked Remembrance Sunday on 9 November, with parades and a service of Remembrance at the War Memorial on Brook Street.

There were two parades, one marching to Holy Trinity and the other to St Helen's. These were well attended by local scouting and guiding units, representatives from local sports teams, schools, youth groups, Ashby Town Council and BID, as well as cadets, veterans and their families.
Just before 11am, both parades joined together on Market Street for the Service of Remembrance and the laying of the wreaths.

The parade and services were attended by some familiar faces, including local MP Amanda Hack, Leader of Leicestershire County Council Dan Harrison, Mayor of Ashby Cllr Damilola Ojuri, representative from North West Leicestershire District Council Cllr Kenny Horn and the deputy Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire.

Wreaths were laid by over 50 organisations and individuals, including local sports clubs, guides, scouts, cubs, brownies and rainbows, Ivanhoe and Ashby School, the WI, U3A, Freemasons, Leicestershire's Knights Order of England, Ashby's Rotary Clubs and more.

The organiser of the Ashby and District Poppy Appeal Pete Edwards was happy with the turn-out for the Remembrance Service, with veterans and members of the public flooding Market Street to pay their respects.
