Ivanhoe College has confirmed they have had students who have tested positive for Covid-19 'across all year groups' since the start of the new term.
And the school has this week re-introduced the wearing of face masks in communal areas - a move which Ashby School also implemented on Wednesday.
Headteacher Alison Alford spoke of the latest developments in the school's latest online bulletin.
The update says that some students have been forced to isolate - and says the mask wearing policy will b reviewed at the end of this month.
The Headteacher Bulletin reads: "Unfortunately, as COVID-19 cases rise in our local community, we have had a number of students who have tested positive across all year groups who are now isolating from school.
"We are continuing all of our preventative measures in school, including frequent hand washing / sanitisation and increased cleaning across the school.
"All students have now transitioned to twice weekly LFD testing at home and I encourage all students and staff to do this twice a week and report results to us.
"This prevents positive, sometimes asymptomatic children, from coming into school and transmitting the virus to others.
"If your child has coronavirus symptoms or tests positive then please inform us using our specific email address: [email protected], keep them at home and book a PCR test.
"We will continue to support students who need to self-isolate with remote learning.
"Our website contains further details on home testing, including links to reporting results and helpful instructional videos.
"Effective from Monday (20th September) we are now asking students to return to wearing face masks in communal areas.
"This includes wearing a mask before entering the school building; when moving between lessons and when in our indoor dining areas (unless eating).
"Face masks should also be worn when students are using school transport.
"Please ensure your child has a face mask with them every day when they attend school.
"Staff at school will be able to issue a face mask if they forget to bring one.
"The Local Health Protection Team have confirmed that we are not at the stage of requiring face masks in lessons; though students who choose to wear them in classes may do so as some students have chosen to since the start of term.
"These preventative steps will not stop us from continuing to offer high-quality learning.
"My team and I will continue to liaise with the Local Health Protection Teams, reporting any positive cases in school and will review these additional measures at the end of September.
"I appreciate that you may find the introduction of further risk mitigation measures concerning: please be re-assured that we are continuing to monitor the situation and will write to you again if we are advised to take any further steps."
