Ashby School student Harry is running a kilometre for every Old Ashbeian who died in World War Two

An Ashby School student is running 45 kilometres as part of a fundraiser to mark the approaching 80th anniversary of VE Day.
Harry Booton is raising money for Help for Heroes - in memory of the 44 men commemorated on the Ashby School Roll of Honour 1939-45.
The runs have a target of £500, and Harry is already more than halfway there.
Harry said: "At Ashby Sixth Form, there is a carved oak roll of honour that lists the 44 names of ex-students and staff, referred to as 'Old Ashbeians', who died during the Second World War.
"With the 80th Anniversary of VE Day approaching, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do something to commemorate their sacrifice while raising money for a good cause.
"So, I decided to run 45km - one for each of the men and an extra for all those who came back - and raise money for Help for Heroes, a charity dedicated to helping veterans and their families in whatever form they may need.
"So far, I have completed two of the seven runs and have raised £310 which is fantastic.

"But I would love to reach my goal of £500. I hope that raising the profile to a wider audience, we can raise even more money for such a worthy cause."
Harry's Just Giving page adds: "Veterans and their families face their toughest battles yet.
"Painful injuries. Mental trauma. Disability. Isolation.
"Our life-changing services support them. From physical and mental health care, to help with welfare and medical needs.
"Your fundraising ensures they get this specialist support for life.
"This is our way to commemorate the sacrifice of 44 ex-students and staff of our school, whilst raising money to help those who protect us to this day."
