An Ashby de la Zouch opticians has given its support to Ashby Castle Lawn Tennis Club in the form of sponsorship.

The team at Specsavers in Market Street says they are passionate about supporting local sports clubs and venues - and have also sponsored Ashby Hastings Cricket Club since 2019.

Kuljinder Bains, Specsavers Ashby de la Zouch store director, said: "As we're a local business, we want to support our community and local people as much as possible.

"It's fantastic to be in the position to sponsor Ashby Castle Lawn Tennis Club and, along with our sponsorship of the cricket club, underlines how committed we are to making sure local clubs like these can continue to thrive."

Peter Wood, treasurer at Ashby Castle Lawn Tennis Club, added: 'We're really grateful to Specsavers Ashby for the sponsorship of our tennis courts.

"It's great to have their support in encouraging the community to come down and get involved.

"We welcome any age and ability and hope to see more locals taking part in a game of tennis."
