Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido has been rated 'excellent' for service quality by Sport England.

The facility, run by Everyone Active in partnership with North West Leicestershire District Council (NWLDC), underwent a two-day Quest assessment.

Quest is a continuous improvement tool for leisure facilities and sports development teams, and is managed by Right Directions on behalf of Sport England.

Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido achieved an 'excellent' banding score, something achieved by around 22 per cent of Quest-registered centres across the country.

This means both of the sites operated by Everyone Active in North West Leicestershire are rated 'excellent', following Whitwick and Coalville Leisure Centre's Quest assessment last summer.

Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido, which has customers of all ages and interests, scored highly in many areas within the mystery visit and formal assessment elements.

These included cleanliness, colleague professionalism, customer and community engagement, swimming lessons, health and safety, social media delivery and environmental management.

The report also praised the centre's diverse, inclusive programme of activities and pricing structure, as well as its health and wellbeing agendas.

Ashby Leisure Centre and Lido's state-of-the-art facilities include a top-of-the-range gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, group fitness facilities, a four-court sports hall, squash courts, floodlit 3G football pitches and a skate park.

Everyone Active's contract manager, Duncan Gibb, said: "We are delighted with the outcome and believe it is nothing more than the centre and its team deserve.

"The Quest scheme is very customer focused and as such, quality facilities alone will not result in an 'excellent' banding being secured.

"This is only achieved through strong teams of colleagues delivering consistently high standards of customer service to the communities they serve.

"It is a fantastic achievement for these two facilities in North West Leicestershire to be rated 'excellent' and is great news for the health and wellbeing of the local community."
