Ashby Ivanhoe 2-0 Rocester
Goals from Macauley Holmes and Dan Quinn saw Ashby comfortably progress in the FA Vase.
Despite being without top scorer Sam Grouse and a host of other players, the tie was straightforward for the hosts who were rarely troubled by their Staffordshire based opposition.
Comfortable in defence but lacking in attack for the opening hour of the match, Ivanhoe's best chance came after 24 minutes when Chris Acott rounded the goalkeeper, only to see his effort hit the post from a narrow angle.
The introduction of Will Robson before the hour mark saw Ashby begin to carve out more chances, looking to utilise the pace of Acott and the movement of Quinn up front to trouble the visitors.
Their efforts paid off soon after when Josh Thomas' corner was met by the head of captain Holmes whose effort found the back of the net, under the goalkeeper.
The goal was Holmes first of the season and a deserved one after coming close on numerous occasions so far this campaign.
Going a goal down did little to inspire Rocester's attack who were unable to test Tommy Dyche at all in the second half, with Ashby instead looking to double the lead.
They would do so when Jack Robinson played a pass out wide to Ross McGarry who squared the ball across the six-yard box for Quinn, the striker making no mistake.
His first-time finish was his third since returning to the club, and his second in this competition.
Ivanhoe will discover their next opponent in Monday's draw, and return to league action on Tuesday, travelling once again to the black country to take on Wolverhampton Sporting.
