Ashby de la Zouch Town Council praises 'community spirit' as thousands turn out for Jubilee Street Party in Market Street

The new town Mayor Cllr John Deakin and the Deputy Lieutenant Alison Smith officially opened the event at noon.
A best dressed window competition and best dressed table competition were also judged by John and Alison - with The Children's Society on Market Street winning the window competition, and table 45 Ruth Foster winning the table competition.
They were both presented with a certificate, Platinum Jubilee commemorative mug, spoon and tote bag.
Ashby Town Centre manager Stuart Benson said: "Well done Ashby, you certainly know how to party and celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
"It was great to see so many turning out, making such a great effort with decorating your table and dressing up for the occasion.
