The team at Middleton Davies is celebrating this month after winning its first PR industry award from the prestigious Chartered Institute of Public Relations - and marking the first anniversary in new offices in the heart of Ashby.

The growing agency won the sought-after award for best 'Community Relations Campaign', alongside their client Western Power Distribution, now part of National Grid.

Recognised for their community outreach campaign, that built awareness for National Grid Distribution's "Community Matters Fuel Poverty Fund", the Middleton Davies team picked up the accolade in Birmingham earlier this month, beating some of the industry's big hitters.

This win follows being shortlisted for last year's CIPR PRide Awards as well as being The Drum Awards Social Purpose Finalist in 2021.

The award marks a successful end to the company's first year in its new offices, the redeveloped former Shellbrook Toys building on Ashby's Market Street.

The growing agency has taken on a number of new local and national clients and expanded its team to align with the goals of the company's client base, which includes small charities, energy companies, educationalists, health and education services and more.

Rebecca Middleton and Nikki Davies founded Middleton Davies in 2019 and have been working tirelessly to build the specialist communications agency that delivers focused strategies and campaigns to help businesses grow and connect.

They support a diverse range of businesses, united in making a positive difference in society and their communities.

Rebecca, Co-founder and Director, explained: "We thoroughly enjoy the work we do and carefully select the clients we work with to ensure that together we can make a positive impact.

"We started Middleton Davies with a clear vision of how we wanted to use our extensive expertise and experience to grow businesses and improve lives.

"We're delighted to produce award-winning work with clients who share our ethos and our goals.

"We love working on small budget projects to multi-million campaigns that impact communities and make a difference."

Nikki, Co-founder and Director, added: "In the last year, we've been proud to win our first industry award and move into a fantastic office in a historical location at the heart of Ashby.

"Here our talented team of five have the space to come together, collaborate and deliver more award-winning work.

"We both used to visit the old Shellbrook Toy Shop as children, so it's lovely that we can bring our creativity into the building and make it happy and successful place again."

The award-winning Middleton Davies team now includes its two directors, copywriting, PR and project support from Cathy Farmer and Helen Rollo, plus Emma Small who came on board earlier this year as its newest PR Account Manager.

Rebecca said: "We've had a fantastic year and our award win from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations really has been the cherry on the cake. In the past months, we have brought on board a number of new clients and fantastic new team members.

"We're excited for the future and being able to support more local, regional and national business with aligned values."
