Tree Officer
We are looking for a part-time Tree Officer to join our busy Planning and Development Team. Located in the heart of the National Forest you will help shape a vibrant and sustainable future for our communities through the protection and sustainable management of our natural environment. The role is vital in safeguarding the district's natural environment by providing expert arboricultural advice on protected trees and landscaping to the Planning Team and customers. You will also have a caseload of tree-related applications.
We are looking for someone with previous experience of working within a local authority Planning Team, a solid understanding of current planning legislation and policy relating Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and trees in conservation areas. A recognised qualification in arboriculture or similar to degree level or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will be organised and able to prioritise their workload to meet deadlines, able to communicate effectively and confidently and build and maintain good relationships with all customers and colleagues. • 14.5 hrs per week with an annual salary of £14,912 - £16,310 plus an essential car user allowance of £963 per annum
(full-time equivalent salary range is £37,820 - £40,777pa)
