Full-time

Head of Human Resources and Organisation Development

Like the National Forest that grows at the heart of the district, our work is rooted in the lives of the people we serve. We are proud to support and encourage our communities and businesses so that they are as healthy and prosperous as they can be.

Across our district there are positive things to shout about, and the location of the East Midlands Airport and the Freeport in the district are key drivers for growth.

We also know how important it is for us to be a well-run and efficient council, where our staff can develop and grow and where our decision-making is clear and rigorous, and we are currently seeking a senior officer who will play a vital role in our future success. Our Head of Human Resources and Organisational Development manages 14 staff, covering human resources, organisation development, policy and performance, emergency planning, and health and safety.

Given the challenges facing all local authorities, we need our new Head of HR and OD to drive our workforce development agenda, supporting the council as we redesign services and drive efficiencies. You will champion our IIP gold aspirations and employee wellbeing at work and you will also play a key role in developing our culture as we reimagine how a local authority of the future will look and behave.

The role reports directly to the Chief Executive and provides a fantastic opportunity to work for one of the biggest and highest performing districts in the region.

• Unspecified hours of work subject to a minimum of 36.25 hours per week with an annual salary of £64,241 to £74,525 plus annual car allowance of £4,500

• Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working

• 39 days holiday (including bank holidays and an extra statutory day)

• Attractive Local Government Pension Scheme with at least 25% employer's contribution

• Employee benefits programme' including payback on medical, dental and optical expenses

• Continued training and development opportunities
