CNC Router Programmer and Operator - Castle Donnington, DE74 Pay Rate: £13.96 per hour Machines: Heidenheim & Siemens Software: Fusion & Powermill CNC Router Programmer and Operator Castle Donnington - Job Details A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced CNC Router Programmer and Operator to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Castle Donnington. In this role, you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC router machines to produce high-quality precision components to exact specifications. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to develop and optimise CNC programs
• Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining paths
• Set up and calibrate CNC machines, ensuring precision and accuracy throughout production
• Load raw materials, monitor operations, and perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Diagnose and resolve programming, tooling, and machining issues to minimise downtime
• Maintain machines and ensure all health, safety, and housekeeping standards are met
• Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve targets
• Identify training and development needs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Carry out any additional duties required to support production goals

What We're Looking For:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models
• Experienced with Siemens machine controls and CAM software (Fusion)
• Skilled in operating CNC routers and manual XYZ lathes
• Strong understanding of material properties such as aluminium, stainless steel, and plastics
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues
• GCSE (or equivalent) in numeracy and literacy
• Qualified through a time-served Engineering Apprenticeship or HNC/HND (or equivalent)
• Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
• A detail-focused, adaptable individual who can work both independently and as part of a team

About the Role: This is a full-time, permanent position offering £13.96 per hour. You'll work 38 hours per week, with flexitime available start anytime between 7:00am - 8:30am, Monday to Thursday (8 hours per day) and 6 hours on Fridays.
