CNC Router Programmer and Operator

- Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to develop and optimise CNC programs
- Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, feeds, and machining paths
- Set up and calibrate CNC machines, ensuring precision and accuracy throughout production
- Load raw materials, monitor operations, and perform first-off and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Diagnose and resolve programming, tooling, and machining issues to minimise downtime
- Maintain machines and ensure all health, safety, and housekeeping standards are met
- Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams to achieve targets
- Identify training and development needs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Carry out any additional duties required to support production goals
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models
- Experienced with Siemens machine controls and CAM software (Fusion)
- Skilled in operating CNC routers and manual XYZ lathes
- Strong understanding of material properties such as aluminium, stainless steel, and plastics
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve machining and programming issues
- GCSE (or equivalent) in numeracy and literacy
- Qualified through a time-served Engineering Apprenticeship or HNC/HND (or equivalent)
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills
- A detail-focused, adaptable individual who can work both independently and as part of a team
